Nnamdi Kanu arrested and returned to Nigeria
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB] Nnamdi Kanu have been arrested on Sunday 27th of June, 2021 and flew down to Nigeria.
This is according to the attorney general of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
Nnamdi Kanu arrested, returned to Nigeria Government-owned news agency reported that the IPOB leader appeared before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
Nnamdi Kanu, who was brought to the court amidst tight security, arrived at the court at about 1:40 pm.
At a joint press briefing on Tuesday with the State Security Service (SSS) in Abuja, Mr Malami disclosed that international collaborative efforts with security agencies led to Kanu’s arrest and repatriation to Nigeria.
Nnamdi Kanu and his co-defendant are facing treasonable felony charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Nnamdi Kanu fled the country in September 2017 after an invasion of his home by the military in Afara-Ukwu, near Umuahia, Abia State.
